The curtains have fallen for The Friends of Sironka Dance Troupe!
In September 2002, my wife Seleina and I led a talented group of Maasai warriors on a tour of five States in America! We sang, danced and lectured on the Maasai Culture, in countless schools, Colleges and Universities. Our maiden tour was extremely well received, and to date we have led over eight such tours! One such trip included a short two months tour of United Kingdom. This tour culminated in a colorful meeting, greeting, talking and dancing encounter with H.R.H. Prince Charles and his wife Camilla!
Thanks to these tours abroad, and the funds that each individual dancer has been able to raise, many homes and Maasai families have been uplifted. Many girls have gone on to high school without having to be married off at an early age!. Countless children have now better clothing, food, education, clean water and health care!
However, just as it began in September of 2002, September 2009, marks the end of a musical extravaganza for the The Friends of Sironka Dance Troupe! A unique but certainly unforgettable performing arts group whose performances will live in the hearts and minds of many for generations to come!
