Mr. Sironka
I am Nicholas Sironka, and during the academic year 2000 – 2001, I had the privilege of being awarded the prestigious Fulbright grant by the government of the United States to teach Maasai Culture and Batik Art classes at Whitworth College Spokane Washington.

In the year 2001, my wife Seleina and I registered then set up an office for Sironka Promotions. This was an avenue through which we could improve the living standards of the Maasai people, by use of their natural talents.

These were to include visual Art, song and dance, and athletics. We focused greater effort on those who had not had the opportunity to go to school. The friends of Sironka Dance troupe was the beginning in our endeavor to empower them.

Who we are:

The Friends of Sironka Dance Troupe is a group of talented young Maasai who use African music and dance as an expression of culture to international audiences.

What we offer:
We perform tailor-made presentations designed to meet the requirements of Elementary school children, College, University students and the general public in:
  • Maasai folk music and dance which play a vital role in the spiritual and social life of the Maasai people.
  • Art & Crafts workshops in Bead-making, Hair braiding, Song and Dance, Storytelling and Batik Art.
